Nuno Santos reveals the main reason behind his joining Mamelodi Sundowns!

The pull of a continental giant was the decisive factor for Nuno Santos, whose move to Mamelodi Sundowns was fueled by the club's formidable reputation. For the midfielder, the choice was clear.

"It is the biggest club in the country and one of the biggest in Africa," Santos explained, highlighting the club's stature. "I felt like the club really wanted me and when you know that, it’s easy to me make that decision."

This conviction seems to be paying off, as Santos announced his arrival by scoring a brace in Saturday's 3-1 CAF Champions League victory over ST Eloi Lupopo at Loftus Versfeld. Brought in during the off-season to help fill the void left by Lucas Ribeiro, the Portuguese playmaker is still acclimatizing to life at the Brazilians.

A significant comfort in this transition has been the presence of his countrymen, both in the form of teammate Miguel Reisinho and head coach Miguel Cardoso. Santos acknowledged the advantage, stating, "He has influence for sure because it’s easier when you’re in Portugal, Europe there’s not so many players that come to South Africa and have a Portuguese coach that speaks the same language. He can advise me, how the things are."

With this support system in place, all eyes will be on Santos to see if he can replicate his recent performance and become a key figure once again when Sundowns take on MC Alger in their next continental fixture.
