Roma had and has three transfer targets: Greenwood, Summerville, and Nusa.
The first two have slipped away, while the club is still in the running for the third.
The Norwegian winger is valued highly, around €55-60 million, and has many admirers in the Premier League, including Newcastle and Arsenal.
This is why D’Amico must accelerate, as it becomes very difficult to compete with English clubs. In recent days, the Giallorossi sporting director has had contacts to sign the 2005-born player, who impressed at the World Cup with a stunning goal against the Ivory Coast, despite not being very convincing in other matches.
In recent days, Roma have been working to assess the feasibility of the Nusa deal.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, D’Amico has been in contact with the 2005-born player’s entourage, even obtaining an opening for a possible transfer to the capital. The Giallorossi are ready to offer the player double his current salary: €4 million plus bonuses compared to the nearly €2 million (including bonuses) he earns at Leipzig.
However, the road ahead is still uphill for two reasons: the German club’s high valuation and the medical examinations Nusa failed to pass in 2024 to join Brentford due to back and knee problems. Further developments are pending.
