Matchday 14 in MLS closes out the league's latest rivalry week with some mouth-watering clashes, including late Saturday afternoon's Hudson River Derby fixture in Queens.
Here's everything you need to know about the 31st playing of the fixture across all competitions.
Both the Cityzens and the Red Bulls are entering the final fixture of a stretch of three league matches in eight days, meaning there could be some load management concerns for both RBNY's Sandro Schwarz and NYCFC's Pascal Jensen.
That said, Schwarz has treaded somewhat lightly on his rotational strategy during his time at the helm of the Red Bulls. He also may not have a whole lot of options given the lengthier injury list of the two clubs, though long-term absentee Lewis Morgan has been upgraded to questionable to make his second appearance of the season.
On the other hand, Jensen doesn't have an Open Cup fixture to think about next weekend, so he's likely to put as close to his best XI as possible on the field. The biggest impediment there will be Keaton Parks' continued absence with a leg injury.
Carlos Coronel (GK) - Cameron Harper, Sean Nealis, Noah Elie, Omar Valencia - Felipe Carballo, Daniel Edelman - Wikelman Carmona, Emil Forsberg, Mohammed Sofo - Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting
Matt Freese (GK) - Tayvon Gray, Thiago Martins, Justin Haak, Birk Risa - Maximo Carrizo, Andres Perea - Julian Fernandez, Maxi Moralez, Hannes Wolf - Alonso Martinez
It's RBNY in the better form at the moment, having throttled the LA Galaxy 7-0 at home last weekend before succumbing to a narrow though respectable 2-1defeat at Nashville SC in midweek. The Cityzens have not scored in three matches across all competitions, including a 1-0 loss to the second-tier Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the U.S. Open Cup fourth round three matches ago.
That said, NYCFC has been creating chances at a considerably higher rate than they've scored them, posting only 13 league goals on 18-plus expected goals created.
The scoreless stretch will come to an sooner or later, and a home derby tilt against the Red Bulls is as good an occasion as any. That said, the history suggests these fixtures are typically lower scoring when City host them, so a tight contest and a share of the points may be the most likely outcome.
