Official: Another key Barcelona star signs new contract | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Thursday announced a contract extension for a leading member of the club’s defensive ranks.

The player in question? Pau Cubarsí.

Youngster Cubarsí has of course spent the season to date continuing to build on his reputation as one of world football’s standout up-and-coming talents.

Still just 18, the Spanish international is the first-choice central defender in Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad, with his exploits both in and out of possession of the absolute highest standard.

Those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou, in turn, recently moved to tie Cubarsí down for the long-term.

And, as alluded to above, this week, they have managed precisely as much.

As per a statement across the Blaugrana’s website and social media platforms, the club’s defensive prodigy has put pen to paper on a new contract, all the way through the summer of 2029:

‘FC Barcelona and the player Pau Cubarsí have agreed a contract extension that sees him set to stay with the Club until 30 June 2029.’
