FC Barcelona have officially announced that legendary midfielder Alexia Putellas will leave the club, bringing an emotional end to one of the most decorated eras in the history of women’s football.

The official FC Barcelona club account also shared a heartfelt farewell message to the two-time Ballon d’Or winner, stating: 

“Thank you for everything, @alexiaputellas! You’ll always be one of ours. The Culers, men and women alike, will miss you.” 

Putellas herself made a post on her social media, confirming her departure from the club after 14 iconic years.

The announcement marks a seismic shift for the Catalan club, as they bid farewell to a talismanic leader who has served as the face of the Blaugrana’s domestic and European dominance for over a decade.
