Official: Barcelona star nominated for UCL award | OneFootball

Barcelona star Jules Koundé has secured for himself a place amongst the nominees for Champions League Player of the Week.

This of course comes fresh off an outing to remember for the Frenchman on Tuesday.

Koundé was in from the off two nights ago, as Barcelona played host to German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt on the continent.

And when all was said and done, the former Sevilla man proved himself the star of the show…

After Barcelona fell behind for the fourth outing in succession, Koundé popped up with a rare brace, courtesy of a pair of headers early in the 2nd-half.

This proved enough to guide Hansi Flick’s troops to a much-needed three-point haul.

And as alluded to above, such exploits have since been aptly recognised by UEFA.

As confirmed across social media on Thursday, Koundé has joined the trio of Noni Madueke, Oscar Gloukh and Charles De Ketelaere on the shortlist for Champions League Player of the Week.
