Dani Rodriguez remains one of the most highly-rated young prospects at FC Barcelona, but the attacker has had a difficult past year or so due to injuries.

Having seemingly put his injury woes behind, the winger had made an impression with Barça Atletic, leading to him earning a spot in the senior setup towards the back end of the last season.

Hansi Flick even ended up handing Dani his debut on 3 May, in a La Liga game vs Real Valladolid. However, the night ended on a bitter note for the youngster as he suffered a dislocated shoulder, forcing him to undergo surgery.

Medical green light for Dani Rodriguez

Having put in the hard yards in his recovery, Dani Rodriguez has finally received the medical green light from the medical department four months after his injury.

Indeed, the 20-year-old attacker, who was linked with a summer exit but ended up staying, has been given the go-ahead and is named in the squad list for Barça Atletic’s first official game of the season tomorrow against UE Porrores.

Playing in the RFEF Segunda Division, Barcelona’s reserve team will be hoping to make a winning start in their bid to earn promotion and Dani will likely be involved in Juliano Belletti’s team tomorrow, having been training with the reserves in recent weeks.

Toni Fernandez, Guille Fernandez, and Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez, who have been regular fixtures in the first-team squad this season, are also named in the squad list, as expected, so that they can get some minutes under their belt.

Another youngster, Jofre Torrents, however, has not been called up by Belletti.

As for Dani Rodriguez, the winger is someone that manager Hansi Flick rates highly. And a few solid performances could put the young attacker back in the first-team dynamics.
