FC Barcelona will host PSG at Montjuïc’s Olympic Stadium for the second game of the Champions League league phase, the La Liga winners have announced this Friday. The tie between the La Liga winners and the Champions League holders will take place on Wednesday, October 1, at 9pm CET. Barcelona previously hoped to host PSG in their revamped Spotify Nou Camp, but the club has seemingly failed to obtain the necessary administrative permits for the reopening of their famous ground.

PSG will then make their return to Montjuïc’s Olympic Stadium for the first time since the 2023-2024 Champions League quarter-finals’ second leg. The Blaugranes won the first leg 3-2 at Parc des Princes, but Les Parisiens mounted an unlikely comeback to defeat Barcelona 4-1 at Montjuïc.

PSG and Barcelona have both won their opening Champions League games this season. The title holders have crushed Atalanta (4-0), whereas a Marcus Rashford-inspired Barcelona defeated Newcastle United (2-1).
