Paul Wanner’s permanent move away from Bayern Munich has been officially confirmed. The German-Austrian talent departs the Bundesliga record champions on a €15m transfer to PSVEindhoven. Kicker reports that Bayern have secured bonus payments as part of the package, but does not specify the amount.

Bayern board-member-for-sport Max Eberl – highly critical of the 19-year-old for seeking the move in recent days – issued only a brief statement in which he listed Wanner’s accomplishments. The FCB executive effectively bade Wanner a trite farewell.

Paul Wanner joined FC Bayern Campus at the age of 13 and developed steadily there,” Eberl’s statement read. “He became a junior national player and recommended himself for the professional ranks. We wish him all the best for the future.

Wanner himself issued a statement crediting Former Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen head coach Peter Bosz for recruiting him to Eindhoven. PSV managing director Earnest Stewart labelled Wanner a “creative and shamanic modern attacking midfielder” in his club statement.

Head coach Peter Bosz and the board members made it very clear to me that they really want me here,” Wanner’s statement read. “They told me how I can really help the team. This was the correct decision.
