Lille OSC have announced that club captain Benjamin André (34) has extended his contract until 2028, putting an end to speculation over a possible move to newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Paris FC. Despite interest from the ambitious capital club – who had made André their top priority this summer – the veteran midfielder has decided to continue his long-standing association with Les Dogues, where he arrived in 2019 from Rennes. According to Le Parisien, André had recently informed Lille president Olivier Létang of his desire to join PFC, but the LOSC chief stood firm and refused to sanction the departure.“A beautiful story of loyalty, fight, and passion continues to be written in the North… Captain André, our captain, is staying on until 2028,” wrote Lille in a communiqué.André has made over 200 appearances for Lille, captaining the side last season in the UEFA Champions League when Bruno Genesio’s men secured victories against the likes of Juventus and Atletico Madrid, qualifying for the round of 16.
