Official: France’s first warm-up match for the World Cup revealed

Present in Abidjan for the final of the LFFP Cup between OL Lyonnes and the Paris Saint-Germain Women this Saturday (kick-off at 6:30 pm, broadcast on La Chaîne L’Equipe), Philippe Diallo, president of the French Football Federation, announced a friendly match between the French national team and Côte d’Ivoire on June 4 in Nantes to prepare for the 2026 World Cup (June 11 to July 19).

“This upcoming France–Côte d’Ivoire match is part of a relationship of friendship between two countries, two federations. The FFF and the FIF have worked together for several months to organize the final of the new Women’s League Cup, and there is a close and cordial relationship between them. It’s also a nice nod to the fact that both coaches come from the FC Nantes training center,” as reported by L’Equipe.

This match is intended to further strengthen an already close bond, but also to prepare for the World Cup with a very fine opposition. Even though we know that these encounters are always a bit special, with the desire to build confidence, the need to work, and the wish to avoid injuries.
