Rasmus Hojlund has completed his transfer to Napoli, on loan from Manchester United with option to buy that can become an obligation for a total €50m.
The 22-year-old centre-forward flew in over the weekend for his medical tests and the contract was signed this evening, with under an hour to go before the transfer deadline.
The cost of the operation is €6m for the one-season loan, with an option to buy for a further €44m, becoming an obligation if Napoli qualify for the Champions League.
It’s reported Manchester United will also have a five per cent cut of the sell-on fee, while his contract has a release clause set at around €85-90m.
As is customary with Napoli transfers, club President Aurelio De Laurentiis was the first to officially announce the news.

It became necessary to pursue a new striker after Napoli lost Romelu Lukaku for three to four months with a serious thigh injury.
This represents a return to Serie A for Hojlund, who had shot to fame with Atalanta in the 2022-23 campaign.
Arriving from Sturm Graz for €21m, he was sold to Manchester United just a year later for €77.8m plus up to €9.9m in performance-related bonuses.
He leaves Manchester United after 26 goals and six assists in 95 competitive appearances for the Premier League club.
The Denmark international has eight goals in 26 senior caps.
