Le Havre AC officially confirmed the departure of Lucas Gourna (22) on Thursday. On loan to the senior club from Red Bull Salzburg last winter, the French midfielder played a major role in helping HAC secure their Ligue 1 status at the end of the past season.
An undisputed first-team regular in Didier Digard’s side during the second half of the season, the former AS Saint-Étienne player started 14 of the 15 matches he played for Le Havre.
Now back in Austria, Gourna will have to convince his manager Thomas Letsch to give him a chance or find a way out, as the Villeneuve-Saint-Georges native’s contract runs until June 2027.
A former French Under-21 international (three caps), the midfielder played for a number of clubs in the Paris region before joining the ASSE academy. Transferred to RBS in the summer of 2022, he has now made 95 appearances for the club, scoring two goals, providing five assists and winning one Austrian league title.
