Together with Boldt, Henning Bindzus will be responsible as commercial managing director of the Lower Saxony based club.

Boldt worked in various roles at Leverkusen from 2007 to 2019, initially in scouting and later as sporting manager and sporting director.

Betwen 2019 and 2024, the 44-year-old served as sporting director at Hamburger SV, returning them to the Bundesliga.

"With Jonas Boldt, we have gained a sporting director who, at his previous positions, has always been responsible for and sustainably shaped the sporting development of clubs over many years.

"We are convinced that his expertise and his modern, future-oriented way of thinking make him a very good fit for Hannover 96," said Ralf Nestler, chairman of the supervisory board.
