As confirmed by the France Football Federation (FFF), Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman (28) has replaced Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembélé (27) in the France squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures.
It is the second change to the squad that Didier Deschamps named earlier this month. Chelsea’s Wesley Fofana has also pulled out of the squad, following consultation between the technical staff from Les Bleus’ set-up and the Premier League side. He has been replaced by Inter Milan’s Benjamin Pavard.
Dembélé is the latest to pull out. The former Barcelona winger suffered a minor hamstring injury after he came on against SCO Angers over the weekend. PSG, in a statement, said that tests on the injury proved to be reassuring, however, Dembélé will need a few days to recover.
As a result, Coman has taken his place. He had fallen out of favour following Euro 2024 and this is his first France call-up since the tournament in Germany last summer.
