The Milan City Council has officially approved the sale of the iconic San Siro stadium to AC Milan and Inter.
This according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who report live from the vote. The sale clears the way for both clubs to move forward with plans for a modern stadium.
Meanwhile, this decision marks a historic moment for the two Serie A giants.
Indeed, they will now jointly own the venue and be free to continue with their ambitious project.
Therefore, construction of a new state-of-the-art stadium could soon get underway.
Furthermore, the new stadium could potentially enable the city to host EURO 2032. This after UEFA’s previous rejection of San Siro.

For Milan and Inter, this is a huge step forward.
As already confirmed by Beppe Marotta, building a new stadium has always been one of Inter’s priorities.
On the other hand, this is also a massive deal for the city.
Indeed, it promises to boost local infrastructure, create jobs, and attract international events for years to come.
Meanwhile, the Milan clubs have already agreed a deal with the renowned British firm Norman Foster to design the new facility.
