Napoli have officially sent Jens Cajuste back to Ipswich Town on loan with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met. ‘I’m delighted to be back.’
The midfielder had already spent last season on loan at Portman Road, where he made 33 competitive appearances, contributing one goal and one assist.
Although they were relegated at the end of it, Cajuste was determined to return and make it a more permanent transfer.

“I’m really happy everything has fallen into place and I’m delighted to be back,” Cajuste told the official Ipswich Town website.
“I always had the ambition, going into the summer, that I would be excited to come back here and I’m really looking forward to getting started again with my teammates.
“Being at the club last season was one of the best experiences of my professional career, especially in terms of camaraderie and team spirit, as well as working under an incredible manager who I have the highest level of respect for.
“From what I have seen the Championship is like war and one of the toughest leagues in the world, so that’s a challenge I am really excited about.”
The statement from Napoli confirms this is a loan with option to buy that becomes an obligation if certain conditions are met.
According to the reports in Italy, this will be a loan for €1.3m with option to buy, becoming an obligation if Ipswich Town are promoted to the Premier League for a further €6.5m.
Napoli paid €11.5m to buy Cajuste from Stade Reims in 2023, but he failed to make an impact at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Of his total 35 competitive appearances, just 16 were from the start.
