Official: RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande named Bundesliga rookie of the season 2025-26 | OneFootball

Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig has been voted the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season 2025/26, as confirmed by both the Saxony-based club and Sky Germany this afternoon.

The 19-year-old succeeds Michael Olise, who won the award last season, selected by fans, clubs, and experts first determine the "Rookie of the Month" each month.

The winners of each month are then nominated for "Rookie of the Season," which is determined by a combination of fan voting [weighting: 40%], club voting [30%], and voting by selected experts [30%].

To qualify as a Bundesliga rookie, a player must meet several criteria. Among other things, they must be under 23 years old on the first matchday of a new season.

Have no prior Bundesliga match experience in previous seasons, and must have accumulated a maximum of 450 minutes of Bundesliga playing time.

The Ivory Coast star – who will be representing his nation at the upcoming 2026 World Cup – ended his first Bundesliga campaign with 12 goals and 8 assists in 33 games.
