After being named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week for Matchday 2, Kylian Mbappe has now won the La Liga Player of the Month prize for September.

Real Madrid enjoyed a largely successful month in September, barring the derby defeat against Atletico Madrid, and Mbappe had a big hand in their positive run.

The 26-year-old French superstar started off the month with a goal and an assist in the 2-1 away win over Real Sociedad.

A week later, Mbappe was on target again as Real Madrid beat Espanyol 2-0, before grabbing a brace in the 4-1 triumph over Levante.

Despite Real Madrid losing heavily against Atletico in their final league game in September, Mbappe was one of the few positives on the evening, even scoring a goal.

Having finished the month with a tally of five goals and an assist from four league games, Mbappe more than earned his La Liga Player of the Month for September.

Overall, the French superstar has eight goals in seven matches in the competition so far, while having netted five in two UEFA Champions League encounters.

Mbappe will once again be key for Real Madrid when they take on Villarreal in La Liga tomorrow night at the Santiago Bernabeu.
