La Liga outfit Real Oviedo have on Thursday unveiled the latest installation on the club’s bench.
The tactician set to take up the reins for the remainder of the campaign? Luis Carrión.
Real Oviedo earlier today made official their shock call to part ways with the man who led the club back to Spain’s top-flight – Veljko Paunovic.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Carbayones:
‘Real Oviedo has decided to terminate Veljko Paunovic’s contract as first-team coach. The Blues’ coach, whose contract runs until June 30, 2026, is no longer the coach of the club from the capital of the Principality. Likewise, the coaching staff that accompanies him also ends their contract with the Oviedo club.’
And as alluded to above, mere hours later, Paunovic’s replacement has also been confirmed.
In a reunion between the parties following his prior time with the club during the 2023/24 season, Luis Carrión has penned terms with Oviedo through next summer:
‘Real Oviedo and Luis Carrión have reached an agreement for the Catalan coach’s return to the first-team bench until the end of the season.’
