Official: Simon Banza leaves SC Braga and signs with Al Jazira Club
Simon Banza has left SC Braga to join Al Jazira Club in the United Arab Emirates this Monday, September 22, 2025. The transfer was completed for 10 million euros, making him the most expensive signing in the club's history.
Banza turns the page on his time with SC Braga after several seasons in Portugal, including a loan spell at Trabzonspor in Turkey last season. Several European clubs, such as Racing Club de Lens, Oviedo, Werder Bremen, and Getafe, made attempts to sign him, but to no avail. Ultimately, Simon Banza chose to join Al Jazira Club, a team based in the United Arab Emirates.
The 29-year-old Congolese forward has signed a three-year deal with the Abu Dhabi club. His arrival was made official on the club's social media pages, accompanied by a welcome message. SC Braga also released a statement confirming the deal and wishing their former striker the best of luck.
