Yahia Fofana left Angers SCO on September 2, 2025, to sign with Rizespor, a top-flight Turkish club. The Ivorian international goalkeeper has inked a three-year contract after successfully completing his medical in Istanbul.

Arriving in Anjou in January 2022, Yahia Fofana played 77 matches wearing the SCO jersey. After a season of adaptation, he established himself as the first-choice keeper and was instrumental in the club's return to Ligue 1. During the 2024/2025 campaign, he was named Angers' Player of the Season by the club's supporters.

This summer, the Ivorian international had been expected for several weeks on the transfer market. Angers SCO was indeed looking to part ways with its goalkeeper to balance the club's finances. The transfer saga took some time to resolve, but negotiations finally concluded with Rizespor, who currently sit 16th in the Süper Lig after four rounds of the championship.

"After reaching an agreement with the French Ligue 1 team Angers and Fofana, the player came to Istanbul for medical examinations. Following the medical checks and official procedures, the national goalkeeper signed a contract binding him to the green and blue colors for three years," Rizespor announced.
