Chelsea star João Pedro has this week drawn comparisons between an up-and-coming Blues talent, and Real Madrid standout Vinícius Jr.

The player in question? Estêvão Willian.

Youngster Estêvão for his part took his talents to west London earlier this summer.

As much came after the Chelsea brass struck a deal with Brazilian giants Palmeiras 12 months prior.

And despite his tender years, Estêvão, at 18, is already making his presence firmly felt in the Premier League.

The Brazil international has featured in all three of Chelsea’s league outings to date, dazzling down the Blues’ right flank courtesy of a remarkable combination of touch, dribbling, and explosive pace.

And as alluded to above, this week, such endeavours have culminated in comparisons with one of world football’s most recognisable attackers.

Drawn on his new teammate during an interview with The Standard, Chelsea summer signing João Pedro revealed his take that Estêvão is on the path ‘to be like’ fellow countryman Vinícius Jr:

“Mate, he’s from the street. You can see he is natural. Tosin [Adarabioyo] said to me: ‘João, wow. Estêvão is amazing’. Playing for Brazil and Chelsea at 18, oh my God. He’s going to be like Vinícius Jr.”
