OL staff reshuffle as Antonin Da Fonseca returns, Yann Fournier named chief doctor | OneFootball

Olympique Lyonnais opened pre-season with a 5-2 friendly win over FC Mâcon 71, and changes on the bench drew attention. According to Le Progres, Antonin Da Fonseca has returned to the performance department to replace Rick Cost, while Yann Fournier has been named chief doctor in place of Manuel Afonso.

The team sheet also showcased the club’s new arrivals. Mohamed Ouédraogo, Kaïl Boudache, Mads Bidstrup and Julien Duranville all featured, and the most observant spotted Da Fonseca alongside Paulo Fonseca.

The backroom reshuffle follows previously confirmed exits for Cost and Afonso. Those vacancies have now been filled in the performance and medical departments.

Fournier steps up from number two and previously worked with the women’s team. His promotion consolidates continuity within the medical unit.

A familiar figure in Lyon’s conditioning work, Da Fonseca had left to take on a new challenge at LOSC. He now returns to an environment he knows well.
