Olympique Lyonnais now sets its sights on Morocco for a partnership.
In terms of youth development, Olympique Lyonnais is pushing forward with its international growth strategy by establishing a presence in Morocco. According to reports from L'Equipe, the French club has chosen Ittihad Tanger as its new strategic partner.
Just weeks after ending its historic partnership with Dakar Sacré-Cœur, which lasted nearly a decade, OL is seeking a stronger foothold in Africa. This move is in line with Lyon's broader plan to modernize its youth academy. Ittihad Tanger stands out as the ideal profile for this new partnership. Competing in the Botola Pro, the Moroccan club boasts modern facilities and a stadium with a capacity of nearly 70,000, making it a well-structured force in Moroccan football.
The partnership is set for a three-year term. Thanks to this agreement, Olympique Lyonnais will be able to scout and support the most promising young Moroccan and African talents.
