Olympique de Marseille have lodged an appeal against a ban on their supporters travelling to Saturday’s match at Paris FC, the club said in a statement.
The fixture is scheduled for Saturday at 17.00. The restriction follows a joint order from the Paris police prefecture and the Hauts-de-Seine prefect.
Marseille expressed regret at a decision that again prevents their fans from following the team away. The club highlighted that Paris FC supporters were allowed to attend the reverse fixture at the Vélodrome, where no incidents were reported.
It questioned the absence of reciprocity for this weekend and argued that proportionate, controlled solutions could be found. The appeal asks for the ruling to be reconsidered so Marseille supporters can travel.
Marseille added that it intends to use all available avenues of appeal to defend this principle and to represent its supporters, while calling on all stakeholders to act responsibly.
