This will be the Dominican university side’s first-ever match against a Trinidad & Tobago club in any competition. Their previous international experience came against teams from Sint Maarten (vs Flames United, 11-1 win, with a hat-trick from Daniel Jamesley and a brace from Hilario Mena) and Suriname (vs Inter Moengotapoe, 1-1 draw, with Hilario Mena scoring for O\&M and Fer Donnegy for Inter Moengotapoe), both in the 2021 CFU Club Championship.

Central FC will make their Concacaf Caribbean Cup debut. The Trinidadian club has a rich history in Caribbean club competitions, most notably winning the 2015 title with a 2-1 victory over W Connection. They successfully defended their title in 2016, once again defeating W Connection, this time 3-0. In 2017 and 2018, they finished fourth and did not contend for the championship.

Central FC has faced Dominican clubs twice in official competitions, both in the CFU Club Championship. In the 2017 edition, they faced Cibao FC and lost 0-1 in Matchday 3 of Group A (final round) on May 18, 2017, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain (TRI), with the lone goal scored by Patrick Soko.
