Former Chelsea captain John Terry has a big warning for Chelsea as he previews their next game against Newcastle tomorrow.
The captain, leader, and legend has been speaking ahead of the game on Saturday and he has a few concerns going into it.
Chelsea are off the back of a couple of needed wins now after a rough run of form leading up to those games. We beat Cardiff City 3-1 in the Carabao Cup quarter finals in the week and before that, it was a huge win against Everton in the Premier League, beating them 2-0.
So, Chelsea can surely use this momentum when heading off to Newcastle tomorrow, but we also know that this is going to be a very tough place to go and play and attempt to bring all three points back with us.

Looking ahead to Newcastle vs Chelsea, Terry said:
“Newcastle away at the weekend against a very good and a very well-organised Newcastle side under Eddie Howe. A team that’s very good defensively, very physical. A team that you look across in the tunnel and know that they’re certainly up for it, and they’re a physical team from set plays as well.
“So we need to make sure that we’re on our game in terms of defensive set plays as well. I think that Newcastle have one of the best and most physical midfields in the Premier League. And also plenty of pace on either wing in Anthony Gordon. Harvey Barnes can come on and make an impact as well.
“Elanga, the other side as well, who shows real pace and a real threat, also. On top of all this, it’s an early kick-off. The Newcastle supporters are great. They’re always up for it. They’re gonna be right behind their team right from the kick off. So, whoever’s captain, flip ’em round, make ’em kick towards the Gallowgate End in the first half.”
Terry continued:
“For those of you who don’t know, there’s a slope. Well, there’s a big slope at St. James’ Park, especially when you’re playing. So, make ‘em kick towards the Gallowgate End in the first half as well. But obviously, we’re coming off the back of a win against Cardiff, where players have had loads of time to rest in the week. So I’m expecting a few changes in the side from the manager, and hopefully we can get back to winning ways in the Premier League as well.
“I know the Chelsea fans are travelling in their thousands, so safe travels. Get right behind the boys,” said Terry, signing off from the video, with words from it cited by Last Word on Sports.
