Last summer, Club Brugge signed Inter youngster Aleksandar Stankovic, with the agreement between the clubs including a buy back option for the Serie A side. Now, HLN are reporting that Inter are considering bringing the 20-year-old Serbian back to Italy after an impressive debut season in Belgium. With Inter currently in negotiations with Hakan Calhanoglu, the side are tempted to pivot away from the Turkish winger and focus on bringing Stankovic back instead. If Inter do make that decision to bring the Serbian back, Club Brugge will receive around €23m.
Stankovic is the son of former Serbian international footballer Dejan Stanković, who himself played for Inter during his career. Stankovic the younger joined Inter as a youngster but never made a first team appearance for the side, having spent a season on loan at Swiss side Luzern. Club Brugge recognised his talent and were keen to bring him to Belgium, a move which has certainly paid off. Stankovic has scored seven goals in 43 games for Club Brugge, while also providing five assists. He was excellent in the Champions League for the Belgian side and it is hardly surprising that Inter are keen to bring him back to Italy.
