The Magpies are set to break the Women's Championship attendance record - which currently belongs to the Black Cats, with 15,387 in attendance in the reverse fixture at the Stadium of Light in October as the Magpies ran out 2-1 winners thanks to two goals from winger Beth Lumsden - on Sunday, 23rd March.
Newcastle are looking to better that and set a new league high - as well as breaking their own record of 28,565 for a women's game - by packing out St. James' and more than 19,000 tickets have already been sold for the game.
Tickets are currently on general sale here at an advanced online price of £8 for adults and £2 children, with a £1 donation from every ticket sold going to Newcastle United Foundation. Hospitality and premium packages are also available.
Becky Langley's side have won back-to-back promotions and are now pushing for the Women's Super League as they continue to inspire male and female supporters alike.
"We hope the Geordies will come and be our 12th player, like they were in the fixture at the Stadium of Light," said head coach Langley. "We want that same feeling come the final whistle and to have the North East bragging rights again.
"It's not just another game - it's about local pride and we want to pack the stadium out and break that Championship record crowd.
"It's so inspiring for us having the crowd there and we're so proud to have so many fans who come and support the men's and women's teams. It gives us that extra push and determination to do them proud."
United's women are nine points off Women's Championship leaders Birmingham City Women but have two games in hand. They welcome Bristol City Women to Kingston Park on Sunday, 2nd March (tickets are on sale here) before travelling to Durham Women on Sunday, 16th March.
Langley's Lasses have attracted huge crowds to their fixtures at St. James' Park in recent seasons during their rise from the fourth tier.
In May 2022, a crowd of 22,134 were there to see the Lasses beat Alnwick Town 4-0 in their first-ever game at the stadium, before a total of 28,565 came to watch the Magpies' 2-1 win over Barnsley in the Adobe Women's FA Cup in November that year - the biggest attendance outside of a final the competition had seen.
They have broken records at Kingston Park too, with 7,382 taking in United's 10-0 win over Huddersfield Town in May 2024 as Langley's team sealed the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division title on the final day of the campaign.
Tickets for Newcastle United Women v Sunderland Women at St. James' Park are on sale here.
