One of the best wingers in the world is ready to join Liverpool and this move just seems destined to come to fruition.

The Reds are heading into a pivotal rebuild in the wide areas this summer.

With Mohamed Salah set to depart at the end of the season, the club will lose its most dependable attacking outlet, a player who has consistently delivered goals, assists, and decisive moments.

That alone would require a strong response in the transfer market, but the issue runs deeper. Luis Díaz was sold last summer and never truly replaced, leaving a gap that has yet to be addressed.

For much of the season, Liverpool have lacked natural depth out wide. When Salah or Cody Gakpo have been unavailable, the team has often relied on makeshift options or players operating outside their preferred roles.

As a result, the attack has looked unbalanced and predictable, with limited threat coming from both flanks. Opponents have found it easier to contain Liverpool, aware that there are fewer players capable of stretching play or winning one-on-one battles.

Addressing this issue will require more than a single signing. Liverpool need at least two high-quality wingers. The Reds need players who can bring pace, creativity, and a stretch defences to give Arne Slot's side a new dimension.

If the club intends to remain competitive at the highest level, strengthening both flanks is no longer a luxury, it’s a necessity.

Finding a replacement for Mo Salah is not going to be easy though.

For nearly a decade, Salah has been the heartbeat of the club's attack, a constant source of goals and someone to carry the burden of being this team's superstar - rarely even being injured.

Week after week, season after season, Salah delivered moments that lifted the club to the highest level, helping to shape one of the most successful periods in its modern history.

He's carried Liverpool on his back at times and he has this allure and aura about him.

Liverpool need a new star, and who better to sign than one of the best wingers in the world right now?

There's been a debate on social media that wingers are 'dying' in the modern game. However, this could not be further from the truth.

Just look at players like Lamine Yamal, Michael Olise and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia absolutely thriving in their own element at the moment.

They are some of the best wingers in the world right now. And another who is one of the best in the world just confirmed he's ready to join Liverpool.

Yan Diomande's come and get me plea, caught Liverpool fans' attention earlier this year and he's the Reds' no.1 target for the winger position, having even been name dropped by the ultra reliable Paul Joyce recently.

It's easy to see why. He is on the club's radar. Scouts have watched him extensively. Richard Hughes knows him from his time at Bournemouth, where Diomande went on trial before joining Leganes, and Liverpool need exactly the type of player he is.

Diomande is direct, he's good in one vs one situations and he is extremely quick.

He can play on the right, he can play on the left-wing. Having that versatility and being comfortable with both feet really makes him standout as the ultimate candidate.

With 21 goal contributions already this season in 2385 minutes for RB Leipzig, he's become one of the best wingers in the world right now.

At 19-years-old, Diomande's potential is scary and he showed that against Frankfurt, highlighting just how much an 'x factor' he has.

RB Leipzig had not beaten Frankfurt in years but on Saturday, Diomande's performance confirmed he's ready to be the star man at Liverpool and join the Reds to replace Salah.

Waltzing in from the right-wing, Diomande beat several Frankfurt defenders to open the scoring for Leipzig.

On top of that he also completed the most dribbles (4), won the most duels (7) and even created three chances in the game to help his side secure a 3-1 victory and get even closer to Champions League qualification.

With 19 goal contributions in the league, only Lamine Yamal, Luis Diaz and Michael Olise have more goal contributions out of wingers in Europe's top five leagues than Diomande.
