Only Egiluz trains alone at Lezama as Athletic prepare for Valencia visit | OneFootball

According to AS, Athletic completed their penultimate session at Lezama ahead of Sunday’s meeting with Valencia at San Mamés. Only centre-back Egiluz trained separately from the squad.

The defender returned to a matchday squad a month ago at Getafe after a serious knee injury. He has been left out by Valverde over the last four weeks and looks likely to miss out again for this penultimate home fixture, with the coach otherwise having a full squad.

Yuri and Laporte trained with the group. The pair had managed workloads in some sessions this week and have rejoined preparation for a match they could start.

Athletic go into the game with five players one booking from suspension, Ruiz de Galarreta, Yuri, Sancet, Berenguer and Paredes. A caution for any of them would rule that player out of Wednesday’s trip to Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium.

The final training session is scheduled for Saturday at 11:00. Valverde will then name his squad and hold his pre-match press conference.
