Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is beginning to build a reputation for bizarrely pressing the ‘like’ button in the wrong places.

The Argentine had already found himself in hot water for his social media antics when he ‘liked’ a post from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano that illustrated Cristiano Ronaldo’s detailed criticism of Erik ten Hag’s ways at Carrington. The youngster was dropped from the starting lineup for the following contest, with many speculating that his ill-advised Instagram demeanor was behind the decision.

And yet, Garnacho has done it again, this time liking a post that shows his teammate and compatriot Lisandro Martinez losing out in the aerial duel against Nikola Milenkovic who scored the early opener for Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford in the contest that ended 3-2 in favor of the visitors earlier this month.

The post included a picture of the Serbian defender scoring with a towering header, with the caption: “Unfortunately Lisandro Martinez got beat in the air.”

As the Mirror explains, this incident has left the fans to wonder whether Garnacho was aiming a dig at his friend, or simply made an innocent mistake.

In any case, many would argue that the Argentina international must be more cautious with his activity on social media, especially with the club’s dire results on the pitch and the ongoing turmoil at the club leaving all players under great scrutiny.

Following yesterday’s humbling 0-3 defeat to Bournemouth, United find themselves in a miserable 13th place in the Premier League standings. This is the first time since 1989 that the Red Devils lay in the bottom half of the table by Christmas, suggesting that the club may have hit yet another low.
