Leyton Orient took a big stride towards sealing a League One play-off spot with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Wycombe, which could have dealt a killer blow to the Chairboys' hopes of winning automatic promotion.
Randell Williams netted the decisive goal for the O's to seal a fifth straight win for the London club, who now sit above seventh-placed Reading on goal difference going into the final matchweek of the season.
The defeat is a massive setback for the Chairboys and opens the door for Wrexham to potentially clinch the second automatic promotion spot with a home win against Charlton on Saturday evening.
The game’s key moment came in the 66th minute when Dan Agyei delivered a dangerous cross into the box, and Williams rose well to head down into the net.
Richard Kone came close to equalising with a fine solo effort, but fired his shot over the bar.
Agyei, who was lively throughout, nearly added a second for Orient in a one-on-one situation, but his low strike drifted just wide of the far post.
