Orlando Pirates have received a huge injury boost as four key players returned to training on Tuesday, ahead of the MTN8 final on Saturday.
The Soweto giants will lock horns with Stellenbosch FC at Mbombela Stadium, in what will be a repeat of last season’s deciding match in the same competition.
While Stellies will be aiming to clinch their first-ever MTN8 title, Pirates will be determined to further assert their dominance in the top eight competition and make it four titles in a row.
This season, Bucs reached the final by defeating Polokwane City in the quarterfinals, before eliminating Mamelodi Sundowns in the last four.
Meanwhile, the Cape Winelands outfit overcame AmaZulu in the first round and Sekhukhune United in the semi-final stage.
Now, with the final on the horizon, Pirates welcomed Nkosinathi Sibisi, Thabiso Sesane, Makhehleni Makhaula and Patrick Maswanganyi back to training.
In addition to the quartet that was injured, strength and conditioning coach Helmy Gueldich was also spotted in training along with Zambian striker Andrew Phiri, who was under assessment back in March.
On the other hand, head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou took charge of training with a cast on his hand after a tragic motor accident after the win over Chippa United.
