According to O Jogo, Oskar Pietuszewski made a dream Porto debut in Guimarães, his 18-minute cameo proving decisive in the victory.
He replaced Borja Sainz on 72 minutes and, at 17 years, seven months and 29 days, became Porto’s youngest foreign player to appear in the league. Soon after, he won a penalty that Alan Varela converted for the only goal. He also drew a second yellow card for Telmo Arcanjo.
He surpassed Anderson’s mark, the Brazilian having played under Co Adriaanse against Nacional at 17 years, 10 months and 20 days. Goalkeeper Kadú featured even younger, although that was in the Taça de Portugal.
The reaction in Poland was immediate. Jagiellonia, his former club, posted congratulations, while igol.pl described him as the game’s hero and said his introduction with the score still level proved decisive for the three points.
Sportowefakty wrote that Polish supporters had awaited his debut since the transfer was announced. He will miss Plzen on Thursday because he is not registered for the Europa League.
