Osmar Stabile ‘used’ Corinthians purchasing card to buy phones for two players | OneFootball

Salazar TV reports that Corinthians president Osmar Stabile used about R$ 19,000 from the club’s purchasing card in 2025 to buy two mobile phones for players. The payments were made via the procurement department rather than a corporate card.

The gifts went to centre-back Cacá after a robbery in early June, and to an academy player identified by ge.globo as Gui Amorim. Both were logged as urgent. Cacá is currently on loan at Vitória.

For Cacá, Stabile requested the purchase on 6 June, two days after the theft in Tatuapé as the defender headed to CT Joaquim Grava. An iPhone 16 Pro Max 512 GB plus a charger cost R$ 12,668. The buy preceded the system entry, and a note recorded urgency and direct delivery to the training ground.

On 19 August, he repeated the gesture with an iPhone 16 256 GB for R$ 6,333, collected from Magazine Luiza due to urgency. The request was logged at 16:26 and the purchase executed at 17:49. A similar approval chain applied across both buys.

Corinthians said the acquisitions followed internal procedures with system requests, invoices and approvals, and were paid via the purchasing department card, not the corporate card under investigation by watchdogs and the São Paulo public prosecutor. The gesture also aimed to ease relations with the squad during Augusto Melo’s suspension on 26 May.
