Otávio joins Eintracht Frankfurt | OneFootball

Eintracht Frankfurt have signed Brazilian centre-back Otávio from Estrela Amadora on a long-term contract valid until 30 June 2031.

Eintracht Frankfurt and Portuguese outfit Club Football Estrela Amadora have reached an agreement over the transfer of Otávio. The centre-back will undergo a medical in Frankfurt and join up with the rest of the squad at their training camp in Grassau. The 20-year-old arrives on a contract until 2031 and will wear the number 5 jersey. 

Otávio Manoel Galdino Fernandes left his homeland of Brazil in 2024, having come through the academies of Botafogo FC and Camboriú FC. The 1.93-metre centre-back made 14 appearances for Estrela’s U23 side, quickly earning promotion to the first team. 

Last season the left-footer made seven outings for the reserves and a further 22 top-flight appearances for Estrela’s senior side, including 17 starts, thereby playing an important role in the team avoiding relegation. 

Sporting director Timmo Hardung said: “In Otávio, we’re bringing in a young, highly talented centre-back with enormous potential for development. He’s a left-footer who is tall, athletic and quick, combining those attributes with a strong defensive mentality, which is something we specifically wanted to strengthen in our squad. We’re convinced he’ll bring us a lot of joy here at Eintracht.”
