Oxford United tame Watford to rise to 22nd

Oxford United beat Watford 2-0 at the Kassam Stadium to rise from 23rd to 22nd in the Championship.
In the 19th minute, Myles Peart-Harris turned in from close range after a set piece to give the hosts control.
Jamie Cumming preserved the lead with sharp stops from Luca Kjerrumgaard and Nestory Irankunda after the restart, as the Hornets pressed for an equaliser.
Substitute Mark Harris settled it in the second minute of second half stoppage time, drilling a low finish into the bottom corner.
Oxford United delivered 10 corners and recorded six shots on target from 15 attempts. The Hornets had 66.2% possession and 12 efforts, but only three tested the goalkeeper.
The result drops the Hornets from 10th to 12th. Next, Oxford United visit Derby. The Hornets host Sheffield United.
