Pablo Maffeo is closing on a move to Olympiakos, and Valencia are turning to other right-back options instead, according to Superdeporte. Thomas Meunier of Lille and Andrés García of Aston Villa are now under consideration.

After five seasons at Mallorca, the right-back is very close to a switch to Greece, where Olympiakos hope to complete the deal imminently.

On Saturday, Olympiakos and Mallorca reached a full agreement on a transfer after swift talks, two days after the player's representatives presented the proposal.

The clubs have been finalising the financial package, which could exceed 2.5 million euros. Personal terms with Maffeo were already in place, helping negotiations progress quickly.

The outcome now rests on the 28-year-old's final decision as he monitors developments while on holiday in Colombia. Barring an unexpected twist, he is likely to accept the Greek Super League challenge and end his time at Mallorca.
