Marco Palestra says he is ready to step up to a big club for 2026-27, with talk of Inter intensifying.
According to Football Italia, he continues to be linked with Serie A and Coppa Italia winners Inter, with Sunday claims that they could go all in and make him a priority this window. The right-back is valued in the region of €50m. Any Inter move may hinge on a Denzel Dumfries sale, and the Dutchman has a €25m release clause.
The 21-year-old was among the breakout performers of 2025-26, impressing on loan at Cagliari and earning his first Italy caps.
He is one of only four players in Silvio Baldini’s 24-man squad with prior senior caps. The Azzurri face Luxembourg and Greece in friendlies this week.
Speaking on Monday at Coverciano, Palestra said he has always felt ready to take a bigger step and did not rule out leaving Atalanta this summer. He thanked Cagliari and coach Pisacane for his first season as a Serie A starter, added that his focus is on the two games with Italy, and said he hopes to grow further next season to fight for higher goals.
