Palmeiras have reached what they consider their financial ceiling in the pursuit of Danilo after tabling a 28 million euro package. The next few hours are viewed as decisive.

According to Globo.com, the club do not intend to raise the offer again. Thursday is pivotal because Danilo has been named in Botafogo's squad to face Vitória at 19:30 Brasília time.

If he features, he would hit the appearance limit for transfers within Série A, which would rule him out for any other Brazilian top-flight side, and Palmeiras would withdraw. If he does not play, talks could continue.

Botafogo are holding out for 30 million euros and have been wary of a domestic sale. Palmeiras' structure is 25 million euros fixed plus three million euros in bonuses, paid in instalments over the next three years.

Despite frequent contact between the clubs and the player's camp in recent days, there is still no definitive indication of acceptance or rejection.

Before the World Cup, Palmeiras explored alternatives to make a deal work, including a proposal worth R$ 120 million plus defender Naves, a Botafogo target in 2025 who later moved to Necaxa in Mexico.

Danilo, a Palmeiras academy graduate aged 25, is considered the club's only target in this window. After his limited involvement with Brazil, Botafogo lowered their demands to roughly that level.
