Palmeiras face a punishing restart, potentially squeezing up to 12 games into 38 days to the end of August, depending on Copa do Brasil progress.

According to Nosso Palestra, the run spans critical Brasileirão rounds and knockout ties in both the Copa do Brasil and the Libertadores, a spell set to stretch Abel Ferreira’s squad.

The sequence starts on 23 July away to Coritiba at Couto Pereira, in round 19 of the league. Subsequent league opponents are Atlético-MG, Vitória, Internacional, Fluminense, Vasco and Mirassol.

In the domestic cup, Palmeiras meet Fortaleza in the round of 16, with matches on 2 and 5 August.

Continental action follows against Cerro Porteño in the Libertadores round of 16 on 12 and 19 August.

If they see off the Ceará club, a further domestic cup tie would then fall on 26 or 27 August.

In total, the schedule could feature seven league fixtures, two in the Copa do Brasil, two in the Libertadores and one Copa do Brasil quarter-final, making 12 in just over a month.
