Palmeiras dismissed marketing superintendent Eduardo Silva on Friday, ending a spell of more than 10 years at the club.
Nosso Palestra first reported the dismissal.
Silva worked under former presidents Paulo Nobre and Maurício Galiotte, then remained under current president Leila Pereira, holding one of the most trusted posts in her administration.
Behind the scenes, he had lost standing with influential figures, retaining backing only from Pereira. The strain around his work had become clear to key insiders.
The decision did not surprise those around the club on a daily basis. In a natural transition, Everaldo Coelho takes charge of the department. He is a statutory director and the club’s third vice-president.
Pereira has two years left in her term, which runs until December 2027.
