Palmeiras dominate Paulista best XI as Abel Ferreira and Flaco López take top awards

Palmeiras dominated the Paulista awards one day after beating Novorizontino 2-1 to clinch a 27th state title. Abel Ferreira was named coach of the tournament and Flaco López the competition’s standout. Awards were handed out on Monday in west São Paulo.
According to Globo.com, Palmeiras supplied six to the Team of the Tournament in Carlos Miguel, Gustavo Gómez, Marlon Freitas, Andreas Pereira, Flaco López and Vitor Roque. Novorizontino were represented by Dantas, Mayk, Rômulo and Robson, with João Vitor included from Portuguesa.
André of Corinthians was named revelation, and team-mate André Ramalho won goal of the tournament for his strike against Ponte Preta. Ligger of Primavera took best dribble, while Palmeiras’ Sosa topped the assists with four.
Flávio Rodrigues de Souza was voted best referee, Neuza Inês Back and Alex Ang Ribeiro the leading assistants, and Adriano de Assis the best VAR. Novorizontino also received the Fair Play award for discipline.
Robson was crowned countryside MVP and leading scorer with seven, ahead of Flaco López on six. The Argentine also won the fan-voted MVP and was presented with a ring weighing 43 g of 18-carat gold, set with 96 diamonds, 20 sapphires and five rubies, with 16 top diamonds representing the 16 teams.
