Palmeiras begin their Brasileirão push on Wednesday at 19:00 Brasília time away to Atlético-MG at Arena MRV. They aim to end a three-year wait for the national title.
According to Nosso Palestra, the club have registered 34 players for the opening rounds. The list includes goalkeepers Marcelo Lomba and Carlos Miguel, defenders Murilo and Gómez, midfielders Raphael Veiga and Felipe Anderson, and forwards Vitor Roque and Flaco López.
Figueiredo is not included at this stage, the academy-developed midfielder is recovering from a third knee surgery, and he had also missed the Campeonato Paulista squad.
Felipe Anderson felt knee discomfort in Tuesday’s training, tests found no injury, and as a precaution he will not travel to Belo Horizonte.
Paulinho, Lucas Evangelista and Figueiredo are out of the first rounds through injury, with the latter two already in physical transition for several weeks.
