Palmeiras resumed training on Thursday morning at the Football Academy after their win over Novorizontino. The return leg is on Sunday at 20:30 at Estádio Jorge Ismael de Biasi.
Globo.com reports that Vitor Roque, still managing pain after the Choque-Rei with São Paulo, followed an individual indoor programme, which was why he began the first leg on the bench.
Paulinho worked on the grass with the club's Health and Performance unit, but remains in physiotherapy and has not started his transition to full training.
Wednesday's starters completed recovery work in the club's recovery and neuroscience centre, while the others played 11 v 11 on a reduced pitch, bolstered by academy players.
Abel Ferreira has two full days to ready the side for the second leg. In the first match he used nearly his preferred line-up, making one change, Ramón Sosa for Vitor Roque due to the number nine's knocks in the derby.
If the centre-forward recovers, the tendency is that he returns to a line-up of Carlos Miguel, Khellven, Gómez, Murilo, Piquerez, Marlon Freitas, Andreas Pereira, Maurício, Allan, Flaco López and Vitor Roque.
