Palmeiras seal deal for standout player from São Paulo’s countryside side

The Palmeiras continues to invest in its youth system and has secured the signing of forward Lucas Vinícius this week to join the club's Under-15 team. The young player was a standout for Monte Azul, a club from the interior of São Paulo, in the 2025 São Paulo State Under-15 Championship.

The athlete has already scored six goals in the competition, becoming the club's top scorer and ranking among the top ten scorers of the youth tournament. Monte Azul and Palmeiras are in the same group in the third phase of the state competition. This past Saturday (23rd), Verdão defeated the team 5-0 away from home.

Excited about this new phase, the young prospect couldn't hide his emotion and said he will honor the jersey:

“It's a dream coming true, I just have to thank God, my family, and everyone who was very important in getting to the biggest club in Brazil, and I promise to honor this team's jersey,” said the player.

The green-and-white team has already played 17 matches in the Under-15 tournament, with 15 victories and two losses, scoring 56 goals and conceding seven. In the next round of the tournament, the team will face Grêmio Prudente next Saturday (30th) at 9:00 AM (Brasília time) at the Football Academy 2.

In the third phase, Verdão is in Group 28, alongside Audax, Grêmio Prudente, and Monte Azul. Eager for his debut, Lucas is already looking forward to starting on the right foot with the team and showing his skills.

“It's always good to start in the best possible way, make a good impression right away, and if I can score a goal, even better. But we will aim for victory at home and continue the good campaign,” concluded the cheerful youngster.
