Leonardo Pantaleão, acting president of Corinthians’ Deliberative Council, has sent an impeachment request against club president Osmar Stabile to the Ethics and Discipline Committee. The filing was made on Wednesday by a group of councillors and associates from Parque São Jorge.
According to Meu Timao, the committee’s opinion will be produced collectively, without a presiding figure. Pantaleão remains its titular head by statute as the Council’s vice-president, despite stepping in after Romeu Tuma Júnior’s leave.
The committee currently comprises Mario Mello Junior, Adilson Carvalhal Junior, Rodrigo Vicente Bittar and Ronaldo Fernandez Tomé. In case of a tie, Pantaleão may call Maria Angela de Sousa Ocampos, the first secretary, to decide, though she does not assume any interim succession.
Under article 107 of the Statute, the accused must be notified within five days. From receipt, Stabile then has up to 10 days to present his defence, after which the committee issues its opinion within 10 days and delivers it to Pantaleão.
Once the opinion is filed, the Deliberative Council president must convene a meeting to decide the next step. If endorsed, a General Assembly of associates must be called within five days to take the final decision on any removal.
Stabile has led the board since late May 2025, following the provisional removal of Augusto Melo. He formally took office in August after impeachment was concluded, and his term runs to December.
The petition is signed by councillors, associates and former directors, including Antonio Roque Citadini, Alexandre Germano, Fernando Perino and Marcelo Kahan Mandel, plus associates Cyrillo Cavalheiro Neto, Felipe José Mendes da Silva, José Augusto Mendes and Wilson Canhedo Júnior. It alleges breaches of the club Statute, financial burdening of Parque São Jorge, non-compliance with the Lei Geral do Esporte, and possible administrative irregularities such as ghost employees and missed legal or statutory deadlines.
