Pape Demba Diop delivered a standout display as Toulouse beat Brest 2-0 on Sunday. The Senegalese midfielder scored from distance then set up Yann Gboho.
He struck in the 27th minute with a crisp long-range effort, then provided a clever lay-off for Gboho on 43 minutes. According to L'Équipe, Diop was awarded eight out of 10 for a near-perfect showing, added notable defensive work after the interval and went off on 90 minutes for Vossah.
Goalkeeper Guillaume Restes had a quiet first half, then produced three early second-half saves, denying Mboup, Chotard and Labeau Lascary, and made four interventions overall. Strong in the air but still refining his distribution, he received seven out of 10.
Rasmus Nicolaisen impressed aerially and in behind, with a timely recovery ahead of Lucas Tousart in the third minute and solid covering on Ludovic Ajorque on 39 minutes. He also went close with a header from a corner on 33 minutes and was marked at seven out of 10.
Brest’s forwards struggled. Ajorque mustered only one tame effort on target on four minutes, was booked on 15 minutes and flirted with a second caution on 36 minutes, earning four out of 10.
Tousart battled defensively with four duels won and five recoveries but was less assured on the ball and shot off target on 40 minutes. He was replaced at half-time by Mboup, rated five and more threatening after the restart.
Rémy Labeau Lascary was subdued before the interval and more involved thereafter, yet without a clear opening, and he was withdrawn on 83 minutes for Makalou. He was given four out of 10.
